ABVI is a company dedicated to helping people who are visually impaired or blind. Our goal for this project were to create packaging that is accessible for people who are visually impaired and blind.
In a group of 5 we decided we wanted to redesign the Lysol spray bottle. Being one of the largest cleaning companies in the country, and one of the leaders in the packaging of cleaning products, We figured that redesigning their bottle would be leading the rest of the cleaning products towards a more accessible design in the future.
The Solution we came up with is creating an alignment on the spray cap using a textured pattern to match the refill bottles, and spray bottles. Using a strong colour contrast that allows people who are visually impaired an easier time seeing the types of cleaners they are buying. Creating a metered pour so someone who is visually impaired or blind would be able to pour the correct amount each time.
